Go a block in one direction and you are on one of the best beaches on the East Coast for frolicking in the waves. Go a block in the other direction to the secluded and protected Tybee River beach which offers a quieter and more tranquil environment. You are also a short walk to restaurants and good times like sunset margaritas at AJ's Dockside or taking a kayak or SUP board for a launch at "Alley 3". This well-appointed home was built in 1980 and was the private residence of one of the biggest builders on the island. 1st floor has access to a spacious, private pool that sits under the shade of live oaks and palms with enough deck chairs for relaxing. Also on the 1st floor, 1 full bath, laundry facilities, and a large foyer area to prepare for the beach, and a nice outdoor shower. 2nd floor includes a living room, kitchen, dining room, 1 BR, and 1 full bath. A relaxing screened-in porch that runs the length of the home is a perfect place for an after-dinner card game or to steal a quiet moment to read. 3rd floor features a second living room with a huge comfy couch and large TV perfect for family gatherings. Also included is 1 BR with a full bath en suite, a sleeping porch with plenty of beds for all kids, and the master bedroom suite with large bathroom which has dual sinks, a walk-in tiled shower and a spa tub. 4th floor: A staircase takes you to a crow’s nest with fold out futon for additional sleeping near the stars. Make cocktails at the bar and take them out to the spacious roof top deck for 360-degree panoramic view of the south end of the island and the most amazing sunsets. Regardless of your vacation plans, you will rest easy at 1806 Chatham and enjoy all of the comforts of home and then some, including plenty of parking for your whole crew piled into that larger truck or extended van—very important on a small island! There are truly very few Tybee homes with all of the luxuries that this home provides and if your party happens to be too large for this home to facilitate, the home beautiful home right next door (*1804 Chatham Ave.) is also available for rent through Tybee Beach Vacation Rentals.
